This Year's Model Updates:

The Grand Cherokee is all new for 2005. Among the improvements are new four-wheel-drive systems, an independent front suspension, three excellent engine options and better ergonomics and build quality.

Pros:
  • Strong engine lineup, unmatched off-road ability, balanced handling, long list of advanced safety equipment, solid warranty.
Cons:
  • Hard plastic interior surfaces could use some padding, less cargo capacity than most midsize SUVs.

  • Nice Comfortable Ride - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Bought the Jeep in Las Vegas, NV and drove it home to NJ. It was a fun ride, making a stop in Chicago, IL. Very smooth ride, accelerated well, gas on the highway was very efficient and the sound system was excellent. I love my Jeep.

  • Best SUV out there - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Fantastic SUV. I have tried many other SUVs and this one takes the take. With a Hemi Engine you can out accelerate ANY SUV and most cars. Smooth drive, nice interior, tons of options, fantastic quality. I recommed this to anyone looking for midsized SUVs. Unparalleled offroad ability and top of the line safety. Like all my friends said "All you need to know how to do is accelerate, brake, and hold the wheel"

This is 3rd Jeep Grand Cherokee. Since they went to rack and pinion steering and softened the ride, my wife really likes it, and so do I. Should have kept the information readout on the overhead and not in the instrument cluster. There was more information on the 2003 model.

  • No problem with Jeeps - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The first Jeep I had was a 1995 year model had it for 7 years and the only thing that went out on it was the air conditioning. Traded it for a Chrysler Pacifica. Loved the car but 6 months later a 17 year old ran a stop sign and totaled it. That is when I bought the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and love it as much as the first one. I was taught to keep up maintenance on cars by my Dads example. I always go to our local Jeep dealer for maintenance. But I will say we bought the extended warranty because of the heavy use of the air conditioning system in Texas. My jeep is not 4WD but it performs well because of the 8 cylinder engine. We have had it for almost three years and still like it.

  • Great Grand Cherokee - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

One of the best cars I have had during the past 20 years compared to others from Ford, Mitsubishi, Mazda and GM.

  • Best SUV on Market - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is our 5th Grand Cherokee. They all seem to get better. We tow the Cherokee behind a 40 foot motorhome and we dont know its there. We have had many people admire this one as the interior is something special. As long as Chrysler keeps this style in production we will keep buying them. We live where there is snow and the full time 4 wheel drive does the job.

  • Nothing Beats a Grand Cherokee - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is my third Jeep. The first two I drove over 100,000 miles, and never had them in the shop for anything more than oil changes and brakes. This Jeep is by far the best of the three. Jeep are no longer just fun, they can go head-to-head with any of the "luxury" car manufacturers.

  • The Best SUV - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

This is my second Grand Cherokee and, as much as I loved the first one, this is far superior in power, road handling, interior quiet, gas mileage, and size. I drove a wide variety of SUVs before I got in the new Grand Cherokee. After five minutes in the car, I was totally sold. It has the best four wheel drive system on the market and is always reliable.

  • Great vehicle - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is the second Grand Cherokee Ive owned and couldnt be happier. I went from a 1999 Laredo with leather, sunroof, and 10 disc CD to a base 2005 Laredo with cloth and few options but didnt feel like I was stepping down. The new model is so much better in ride, handling, and comfort. It drives much smoother and quieter than the old model and definitely better than the Explorer or TrailBlazer I test drove. Im not sure why I even drove them because Jeep is always where my heart will lie.
